Hiking at Broga Hill - Semenyih
I've been waited for so so so long to go hiking at Broga just because....I'd never been there plus aku ni memang suka sikit aktiviti lasak -_-. Until few weeks ago, Kak Pija as the PIC asked everyone in MISI group who are into it. So Ayun's being Ayun. Broga? Why not!
After almost two weeks of planning and looking for people who might interested to join. Mau tengok sunrise punya pasal, at 4.30 am on Sunday morning, we departed from UIA dengan kekuatan anggota (anggota sangat) seramai 11 orang MISIan. Sebenarnya, it didn't has to take almost two weeks to plan pun, tapi biasalah in a large group of pipol, last minute tetiba ada orang tarik dirilah, nda jadi ikutlah. Macam-macam... Tapi x kesahlah kan. Yang penting, our plan tetap jalan. :D
It took around 50 minutes from UIA to Semenyih tanpa sesat-sesat. We arrived at Broga around 5.30 am macam tu and sangat ramaiii gila orang since it's Sunday. So, those yang x suka ramai-ramai, crowded and x suka berebut port ambik gambar dengan orang ramai, I strongly recommend you to go during weekdays. :)
Cari Broga ni xdalah susah sangat even kena jauhhhh masuk ke dalam from jalan besar. Just follow maps/waze/signboard once sampai Semenyih, Insya Allah tak sesat. Broga ni terletak dalam kawasan ladang kelapa sawit. So, memang kena park kereta dulu bawah tu with entrance fee sebanyak RM2.
First time experience
For Beginners yang baru menjinak-jinakkan diri in hiking macam sayya, aku recommend try naik Broga dulu. First reason, sebab even Broga ni lagi tinggi dari Tabur, tapi Broga landaiiiii. I mean yess landaiiiiiiii. Alhamdulillah dari start sampai akhir x dalah penat mengah-mengah sangat. Penat kaki mendaki tu biasalah.
fact 1: Broga 1312 feets from sea level while Tabur...I don't know. X research lagi.
We started hiking around 5.45 am after having sandwiches as breakfast dalam kereta. Please please have breakfast beforehand tapi janganlah terlalu kenyang sampai muak pulak. Nanti muntahh. After 10 minutes of perjalanan, near trail bertali tu, kami stop for Subuh Prayer. No sajadah no problem, use bag instead. hehe
If you decide to hike awal subuh, please bring torchlight along. Sebab GELAP. Fortunatleh, we went there on weekend dan ramai orang, so boleh lah menumpang cahaya torchlight dorang. But in our group ada ja yang bawak powerbank so guna torchlight powerbank ja lah. Pun boleyhh. Plus, if kita pergi time ramai orang ni *weekends*, rasa lebih selamat kut.
Sadly, di pertengahan jalan, one of us x berapa sihat and they told us to resume our hike first ; Kak Rara, Kak As, Kak Zati, Fionz and me decided untuk teruskan perjalanan dulu. Big thanks to Razzi and Azam for being such gentlemen adik sebab tunggu kakak-kakak yang sakit dibelakang. *clap-clap*
Duration?
Lamsam kami start hike pukul 6 am, and arrive at first checkpoint around 6.30 am - dalam 30mins lah. Kalau you fit, boleh ja 30 mins tu sampai forth checkpoint. Kami sampai at last chechkpoint (4th) dan stayed there around an hour; taking pictures & had snacks sebab tunggu kawan-kawan yang behind us tadi bersemangat teruskan journey sampai ke summit. jyeah
Btw, Broga ada 4 chechkpoints. So, do not give up ladies! At first aku rasa macam dah sampai summit but bila tengok ada segerombolan manusia yang seakan-akan semut dari jauh, "ohh ada lagi peak yang higher than this" Then, continue lagi sampaiii lah the 4th checkpoint. It's not the mountain that we conquer, it's ourself.
Susah kah Broga?
For me, Alhamdulillah x susah. Dah kata, Broga niii landaaiiiiii ja insyaAllah. CUMA, time turun kena hati-hati sebab steep. Plus, Broga ni ber- tanah merah so if hujan memang confirm licin dan becak. Time x hujan pun aku berapa kali tegelincir hampir terjatuh.. when you get down oh oh and if you get up eh eh, tis is for afrikahh. -___-
safety first
Masuk jamban pun safety first inikan pulak pi hiking. So start everything dengan bismillah. Bismillah dan doa before start your journey. mentang-mentang Broga ni landai, x payah lah hooha-hooha ketawa-ketawa (bercakap whilst hiking is memenatkan apatah lagi ketawa!) terlampau gian ambik gambar dan loncat-loncat atas batu besar. Broga ni pun pernah ada kes orang mati kena tindis batu. Ajal di mana-mana, so bawak beringat.
Preparation
1. Kalau nak tengok sunrise, bangunlah awal. Geraklah awal - our case 4 am. Rancang perjalanan.
2. Kasut yang sesuai yang grip OK. Hiking shoes is bonus. Kalau xda, sport shoes yang grip OK pun sudah memadai.
3. Simple & quick breakfast. Sandwich, energy bar, protein shake - anything simple on the go dah cukup OK. Nasi lemak sambal kerang telur mata ayam goreng berempah + teh tarik extra joss? Tak perlulahh.
4. Air yang cukup. I sipped sikit air before hike. Aku x suka minum air banyak2 on my way up sebab takut x larat, muntah, berat etc. But once sampai atas, aku minum. So tang ni, ikut lah preference masing-masing.
5. Tandas? Kosongkan segala pundi yang anda ada. Di atas TIADA toilet mahupun PIPE. So agak-agak mau kencing ka berak mau cirit ka, selesaikan awal-awal.
6. Ambik wudhu siap-siap dari rumah OR bawak stock air wudhu dalam botol 500ml tu pun enuf.
7. Headlight/torchlight if hike subuh-subuh.
8. Subuh prayer - mini sejadah/towel kecik/bag as alas solat. Untuk perempuan, pakailah baju yang sesuai so xlah kalut bawak telekung bagai.
9. Bag yang sesuai. Small backpack/sling bag pun OK. Unless if you mau camping atas tu lain cerita lah.
10. Makanan macam buah,coklat bar,kismis,sandwhich anything light. Macam biasa, tengah hike aku x makan (luls who does?) . Once sampai, aku makan lah.
11. Kayu hiking - ni optional. Aku x bawak pun sebab xda. Haha.
12. Warm up, even I forgot to. luls.

Once sampai summit tu memang rasa hilang penat, lupa penat yang tadi daki-daki tu, lupa journey yang sudah dilalui (read: sebab gelap HAHA) sepanjang naik, rasa puas tengok view MAGNIFICENT, BREATHTAKING & AMAZING mazing mazing subhanallah.
No matter how slow you go just keep moving. Tapi janganlah slowww sangat pulak. Hehe. Tiada tali untuk berpaut? Pautlah batu-batu, tanah merah around you. Yang penting, "I gotta be THERE at summit"
Don't look how far you have to go through, stop and look behind how FAR you have WENT through. Ingat senang kah bangun awal pagi, sapu inti sandwhich, mandi pagi, sewa kereta mahal-mahal. At last sampai Broga x nak finish what you start. :( The serene and breathaking views up there are worth the 4 am wake up call!!!
Alhamdulillah selamat pergi, selamat balik.
So, where next? Bukit Kutu kah Tabur kah Gunung Dato kah? kita tengok saja lahhh. Gunung Kinabalu aku nda ready lagi . x pasal pasal begagar kepala lutut ahahahhahaha.
